Round-the-World Trip 70+: Good Planning, Half the Battle
That tingly feeling… and no, it’s not the vaccines. Our big adventure is about to begin – the world trip! Weeks of planning, lists, to-dos, a bit of chaos… and now? Now comes the tingling. The good kind. 🦋
Thanks to the fantastic World Travel Agency Reiss-Aus in Kiel (weltreise.com), our adventure is finally picking up speed.
Our Route – Around the World, Please 🧭
Hamburg ➡️ Zurich ➡️ Singapore ➡️ Siem Reap ➡️ Singapore ➡️ Perth ➡️ Sydney ➡️ Auckland ➡️ Los Angeles ➡️ Zurich ➡️ Hamburg
Before Take-Off – A Few Things We Wanted (and Needed) to Tick Off:
🩺 STAYING HEALTHY
We had a thorough check-up – better safe than sorry.
Even without a malaria risk, it was a good idea to update our vaccination records and general health prep.
Tip: The website of the German Tropical Institute offers great health information for travelers.
🪪 DOCUMENTS – OUR NEW BEST FRIENDS
Visas, ESTA, travel insurance, credit card activation – it may sound like bureaucracy, but it’s actually the key to traveling worry-free.
Our advice: Start early. It always takes longer than expected.
📲 STAYING CONNECTED – WITHOUT WIFI TREASURE HUNTS
For the first time: an eSIM!
We chose Holafly – download the app, activate it on the day of departure, and you’re good to go.
Being reachable worldwide has never been so easy (theoretically).
🏨 🚗 ACCOMMODATION & RENTAL CARS
About 25 accommodations across 3 months – booked via hotel websites, Booking.com, and Airbnb.
Rental cars? We prefer billiger-mietwagen.de. So far: reliable and straightforward.
Our Conclusion:
The lists are checked off, the calendar cleared – the suitcases… well, almost packed.
We’re ready.
Time to go – with curiosity, ease, and a whole lot of excitement in our bags. 🧳✨
